Email Outreach
Information for researchers who received an email from Steve about a preprint, manuscript, or academic writing sample.
For authors who received an email
Try a free 300-500 word sample edit
If you received an email from ScholarMemory, you do not need to send the full manuscript or place an order.
You can simply reply "sample" if you would like me to send instructions, or send a short 300-500 word passage from your manuscript. I will return an edited version so you can judge whether the editing style is useful.
No payment is required for the sample. I only edit language, flow, structure, and journal-style expression. I do not evaluate the scientific content.

Macrophage responses after biomaterial exposure
Original:
Biomaterial implants are widely used in tissue repair, but the local immune reaction is still not fully understood. In this study, we cultured primary mouse macrophages on a candidate hydrogel surface and measured inflammatory markers after 24 and 72 hours. Cells on the hydrogel showed lower Il1b and Tnf expression than cells on uncoated plastic, while Arg1 increased at 72 hours. These results suggest that the material may shift macrophage activation toward a less inflammatory phenotype. However, further work with additional donors and in vivo models will be needed to confirm the relevance of this response.

Biomaterial implants are widely used for tissue repair, but the local immune response remains incompletely characterized. We cultured primary mouse macrophages on a candidate hydrogel surface and measured inflammatory marker expression at 24 and 72 hours. Compared with cells grown on uncoated plastic, hydrogel-exposed cells had lower Il1b and Tnf expression, whereas Arg1 expression increased at 72 hours. Together, these findings suggest that the material may be associated with a less inflammatory macrophage phenotype under these culture conditions. Further studies using additional donors and in vivo models are needed to assess the relevance of this response.
What changed:
- Replaced vague phrasing with standard journal language.
- Made the comparison group easier to follow.
- Kept the interpretation cautious rather than causal.
- Added context that limits the claim to the culture conditions.
- Tightened wording while keeping the scientific meaning preserved.
Pricing is not required for the sample. If you want to understand the full-service options later, see View pricing.
Why you may have received an email
ScholarMemory occasionally contacts researchers whose public preprint records or public academic contact information suggest that a short language editing sample may be relevant. These messages are intended as low-friction invitations, not as manuscript review, journal advice, or a request for payment.
A first email usually mentions a recent preprint or research topic and asks whether you would like to see a short rewrite sample. You do not need to send a manuscript unless you choose to continue the conversation.
Relationship to stevewritting.work
The domain stevewritting.work is used as an email outreach domain for ScholarMemory. It is not a separate editing service, payment site, or manuscript submission portal.
The official service website remains scholarmemory.com. General questions about ScholarMemory should be sent to contact@scholarmemory.com.
How recipient information is handled
Outreach is based on publicly available research metadata and academic contact information. ScholarMemory does not sell recipient email addresses and does not share outreach recipient lists with third parties.
- Emails are used only for ScholarMemory-related communication.
- Opt-out requests are added to the do-not-contact list for future outreach.
- Manuscripts and unpublished research are treated as confidential when a researcher chooses to send material for editing.
How to opt out
If you do not want to receive future outreach emails, reply to the email you received with "unsubscribe". You can also email contact@scholarmemory.com with the subject "Unsubscribe".
If you write from a different email address, please include the address that received the original message so it can be removed from future outreach.
