Terms of Service
Plain terms for manuscript editing orders and sample edit requests.
1. Agreement
By ordering editing, requesting a sample edit, or sending a manuscript, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not send files or place an order.
2. Service scope
ScholarMemory provides English-language editing for biomedical, medical, biological, and life-science manuscripts. The work may include sentence editing, paragraph flow, terminology consistency, cautious scientific wording, and journal-style expression.
- English editing only
- No translation service
- No statistical review
- No scientific validity assessment
- No guarantee of journal acceptance
3. What you provide
You are responsible for sending files you have the right to share and for checking that the edited text still reflects your scientific intent.
4. Payment and invoices
Payments are processed through Gumroad unless we agree otherwise. You may choose a 50% deposit plus 50% after delivery, or a 100% upfront payment if you need one invoice. Prices are based on word-count packages.
5. Delivery and revisions
The standard delivery time for listed packages is 7 days after I receive the manuscript and required context. Revisions are included until you are satisfied or the paper is published, as long as the request stays within the same manuscript and editing scope.
6. Confidentiality
Your unpublished manuscript is treated as confidential. I do not share it except when required by law or when you ask me to use a specific third-party tool.
7. Refunds and limits
Refund requests are reviewed case by case. No refund is guaranteed after the final edited document has been delivered and accepted. ScholarMemory is not responsible for journal decisions, publication outcomes, grades, funding decisions, or scientific conclusions.
8. Contact and updates
Service questions should be sent to contact@scholarmemory.com. I may update these terms when the service changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
